Company History

Established in 1992, Mary Denning's Cake Shoppe was a life long dream of Mary's. Starting with her daughter Jennifer working the front, Mary working the back and Grandpa Charlie as the assistant, the bakery envisioned being unique. Producing top quality product and great customer service in an inviting shopping environment was and still is, top priority list. Through the years our customers have become our friends and we have become a special part of their family, sharing their special holiday celebrations and family events.

We are fortunate to have a very talented team working at Mary Denning's Cake Shoppe. Mary is president and CEO. She is an instructor at Henry Ford Community College and Oakland Community College and a Pastry Chef since 1974. Our cake decorators have won numerous awards and culinary medals. Our bakers have many many awards, including #1 Pasty in the Detroit Area by The Detroit News. We have been featured in Ladies Home Journal, in many magazines and newspapers, we have won the Sam Walton Business Award and the National ATHENA Award.
